Caskey is a principal of the Washington Advisory Group. He was on the American Cancer Society's Advisory Committee on Nucleic Acids and Protein Synthesis in 1974. Other top ACS officials included Lasker Foundation director and WAG principal Purnell W. Choppin; Council for Tobacco Research members Wolfgang Joklik, Peter K. Vogt, and Roswell K. Boutwell; Frank Rauscher Jr. of the NCI; and R. Lee Clark of MD Anderson.

CSHL published the 1980 Banbury Report 3, a red herring created by ACS and NCI insiders including Ernst L. Wynder of the American Health Foundation and Gio Bata Gori of the NCI. It was also the location of the founding of the Human Genome Organization (HUGO).
