The phony "moral controversy" absorbing this nest of subhumans and their media sluts is whether they should allow researchers to accept money from the tobacco industry. What a stinking sham! The tobacco industry has been nothing but a slush fund for the health establishment's pet projects dating from even before they founded the Tobacco Industry Research Council. At no time has the tobacco industry ever questioned the anti-smokers' flagrant scientific fraud, of systematically and deliberately using defective studies to falsely blame smoking and secondhand smoke for diseases that are really caused by infection. In fact, Philip Morris was taken over by anti-smoker conspirators decades before - the stepson of the head of the American Cancer Society was on their board of directors! Another fact concealed by the lying media! Furthermore, the bloodsucking anti-smokers steal billions of dollars a year from smokers, because the cigarette companies flopped on their bellies when it looked as if they winning in the Minnesota state tobacco lawsuit, and settled for more money than the anti-smoker filth were demanding.

"Regent John Moores, who introduced the measure to ban tobacco funding, assailed what he called the industry's 'sordid history' and blamed it for 'a billion deaths,'" with those supposed "billion deaths" being pulled directly out of his own lying ass. But what takes the cake is this: "regents Chairman Richard Blum retorted that the industry has killed 'millions and millions of people,' adding, 'If al Qaeda tomorrow wanted to come here and give you a grant to do studies, to research other religions, would you take the money from them?'" Moores, and Ameriquest Capital Corp. chief operating officer Judith L. Hopkinson -- are expected to ensure passage next week of a Davis-backed plan to make more students eligible for UC.... all three are wealthy contributors very much in the mold of regents appointed by former Governor Pete Wilson. His first company, BMC Software, made a pile from the well-heeled users of IBM mainframes. He made another $101 million selling his holdings in Peregrin Systems shortly before its stock price crashed in an Enron-like creative accounting scandal. But it's all morally sanitized because he throws such vast sums at the University of Houston and Scripps, etc.

Who is Richard Blum? Richard C. Blum is the husband of anti-smoker Sen. Dianne Feinstein. He has been a director of Northwest Airlines since 1989. His fellow Northwest director, Frederic V. Malek, contributed money to Feinstein's election campaign. "Malek explained that he made the contributions because these Democrats were his 'friends.'" (Bush Can't Stand Pat. By Cal Thomas. The Intelligencer, Doylestown, Pa., Dec. 15, 1991.) Malek, who was the president of Northwest from 1989 to 1990,  has been a director of ICF Kaiser International Inc. since 1989. In August 1988, ICF became involved in the illegal pass-through contracts to Kenneth G. Brown Inc. to write the crucial chapters of the EPA ETS report. Contrary to the media's systematic lies, this report was written by anti-smoking activist A. Judson Wells (who confessed to this in a public hearing), using illegal sole-source contracts passed through ICF in order to conceal his role. The real EPA scientists, whom these corrupt vermin elbowed aside, were against calling ETS a human carcinogen! Malek was Campaign Manager of the Bush-Quayle election campaign in 1992, and the phony "EPA" report was released at the end of the Bush administration, just before Clinton took office. Malek was also a business partner of George W. Bush in the Texas Rangers during this time; he is a longtime director of ADP, the company of anti-smoker Frank Lautenberg, who rammed through the smoking ban on all domestic airline flights in 1990; and Malek's wife, Marlene, was a member of the National Cancer Advisory Board of the National Cancer Institute from 1991 to 1996.

Jill G. Cockrell, Assistant to Richard C. Blum, self-righteously returned a $1000 contribution to Feinstein for Governor from Samuel D. Chilcote of the Tobacco Institute. Wasn't that nice of TI to give money to such vile and despicable people!

Blum is also a member of the board of trustees of the American Cancer Society Foundation.

See the travesty that these vermin perpetrate: "California became the first state in the country Thursday to place secondhand tobacco smoke alongside tailpipe and smokestack exhausts as a toxic air pollutant and candidate for regulation. The designation, approved 6-0 by the California Air Resources Board, lends heavy ammunition to public health advocates seeking greater protection, especially for children. It is expected to revive legislative efforts to ban drivers from smoking when children are in their vehicles and bolster efforts to curb smoking in multifamily dwellings."

Anti-smokers believe that words are magic

"Our greatest role will be education about smoking in cars ... because that is a staggering exposure," said Catherine Witherspoon, the air board's executive officer." Vermin adore the word "staggering," and every form of exaggeration, puffery, and histionics, because it helps them manipulate mentally retarded people, who are the backbone of their support in their precious opinion polls.

"Californians, especially parents, would not willingly fill their homes with motor vehicle exhaust, and they should feel the same way about tobacco smoke," gibbered Joan Denton, director of the state Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. In fact, the reason that people don't treat cigarette smoke the same way they do car exhaust is that the health effects are not the same, notwithstanding the anti-smokers' vile and despicable attempts to pretend otherwise. Many people have died from the levels of carbon monoxide in vehicle exhaust. Nobody has died from the levels of carbon monoxide from secondhand smoke, or even from first-hand smoke - and we know it, you less-than-human vermin!

The media purposely promote scientific fraud

"In listing secondhand smoke Thursday, the air board accepted findings by the state health hazard group and university scientists that go further than any before in establishing a link between breast cancer and breathing of secondhand smoke. The scientists made international news last spring in concluding that exposure to tobacco smoke is not merely associated with breast cancer but clearly can cause the disease in young women who never smoked." In  fact, not even active smoking is considered a cause of breast cancer by real scientists. That "study" was concocted from cherry-picked "evidence" by Stanton Glantz, a piece of scum with a track record of lies and deceit, in whch the media are his knowing collaborators. His media whores embrace his scientific fraud as truth, purely because it serves their political agenda of persecuting smoking. The media all believe that their job is to deliberately manufacture and disseminate lies, and repeat them over and over again to brainwash the people with a fraudulent picture of reality to make them accept anti-smoker tyranny. That is the reason the study made international news, instead of the trash can. If the media were behaving responsibly and ethically (words that they don't know the meaning of), they would have boycotted Glantz the way they do his critics, and condemned the air board (whose powerful political sponsors they don't want to offend). "Not all health experts, including those with the American Cancer Society and the U.S. Surgeon General's Office, are as sure about the connection to breast cancer, saying more evidence is needed." But what those corrupt organizations mean by "more evidence" is merely 'a longer period of brainwashing the public with Stanton Glantz's lies.' The American Cancer Society is a crypto-fascist political organization with a long history of suppressing research and purposely using defective studies to falsely blame smoking for diseases caused by infection. And the Surgeon General is just a crass political appointee serving the anti-smoker-controlled Republican or Democratic Parties, as the case may be, who rubberstamps corrupt Surgeon General reports concocted for him by the corrupt frauds installed for the purpose by the Lasker Lobby. And it was the anti-smokers' whore, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appointed the head of the California Air Board, Robert Sawyer. "[Sawyer, who made his debut Thursday as Gov. Schwarzenegger's newly appointed air board chairman, said he just returned from Ireland, where he learned that the California agencies' tobacco research served as the scientific justification for that country's recent smoking ban in pubs and restaurants."

"After analyzing thousands of studies from around world, the California scientists added premature birth and the induction and exacerbation of asthma in adults to the list of ills that had already been linked to secondhand or "environmental" smoke, including heart disease and lung and nasal sinus cancer in adults. The research also found stronger links between secondhand smoke and sudden infant death syndrome and respiratory and heart diseases." ALL of these claims are examples of deliberate scientific fraud.

"Notably absent from the Sacramento meeting were representatives of the tobacco industry. 'We decline to comment,' Mike Neese, a spokesman for Philip Morris USA, told The Bee." Well, what do you expect from the people who purposely threw the state tobacco lawsuits so that the anti-smokers wouldn't lose! They let the anti-smokers get away with perjury, and didn't even mention how the anti-smokers falsely blamed smoking for cervical cancer that was really caused by human papillomavirus. The California EPA's Scientific Fraud

Dear Sir or Madam:

Request for Information Regarding Environmental Tobacco Smoke

I am writing to request information on the atmospheric chemistry, sources, total exposure to, and the adverse health effects of exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). The Air Resources Board (ARB) is requesting this information as part of our toxic air contaminant program. This request is the first step in the process to review and assess ETS as a toxic air contaminant. This program is established by state law (California Health and Safety Code section 39650 et seq.) and is summarized in Enclosure 1.

In February 1992, the ARB and the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), with assistance from the Department of Health Services (DHS), undertook a thorough assessment of the health risks associated with exposure to ETS. This assessment was done to ensure a comprehensive review of scientific data [SIC!], to obtain public input through public comment periods and workshops, and to secure an independent review by the state's mandated scientific peer group, the Scientific Review Panel (SRP). In June 1997, the SRP approved a scientific report that presented the assessment performed jointly by OEHHA, DHS, and the ARB. The SRP also developed specific findings regarding the health effects resulting from exposure to ETS. The final report was released to the public in September 1997, and was approved by the ARB at its October 23, 1997 meeting. However, since 1997, new legislation has been enacted which requires an evaluation of the effects of candidate toxic air contaminants (i.e. ETS) on children's health.

Under the Children's Environmental Health Protection Act (Health and Safety Code section 39660(c)(1)(A)-(D), the report prepared to identify a compound as a toxic air contaminant must now include the following (to the extent information is available):

1. exposure patterns among infants and childen that are likely to result in disproportionately high exposure to ambient air pollutants in comparison to the general population;

2. special susceptibility of infants and children to ambient air pollution in comparison to the general population;

3. the effects on infants and children of exposure to toxic air contaminants and other substances that have a common mechanism of toxicity; and

4. the interaction of multiple air pollutants on infants and children, including the interaction between criteria air pollutants and toxic air contaminants.

Some of the work to update the previous ETS report will focus on meeting these new requirements. In addition, the OEHHA must conduct a quantitative risk assessment. In cases where there is no threshold of significant health effects, existing law requires that OEHHA determine the range of risk to humans resulting from current or anticipated exposure to the substance. A range of risk was not calculated or presented in the previous ETS report.

We now request additional, pertinent information for ETS exposure, including any material on children's exposure to ETS and any material that may not be available to the public or that is not included in the enclosed bibliography from the joint ARB/OEHHA 1997 report on ETS (Enclosure 2). We are also requesting infomation relevant to human exposure to ETS and its constituents in California through media other than outdoor ambient air. Specifically, we are requesting information concerning total exposure to ETS through inhalation, ingestion, and skin absorption, with special emphasis on inhalation exposure in the indoor air environment. This includes ETS and its constituent concentrations in various media, consumption information, bioabsorption rates, body burden studies, etc.

There is no need to submit information that you submitted in response to ARB's previous requests for information about ETS. The information that you provide will be considered as part of an evaluation of ETS as a candidate toxic air contaminant. This information, with the exception of trade secrets, may be released to the public. Therefore, if you believe that any of the information you are providing is a trade secret, or is otherwise exempt from disclosure under any other provisions of law, you should identify it as such at the time of submission. The ARB's procedure for handling information claimed to be trade secret is explained in Enclosure 3.

The 1997 Cal EPA ETS Report is corrupt. Its authors systematically excluded evidence that the pretended health effects of ETS were the result of confounding by infection. The published public comments are also bogus; they picked and chose only those comments they wished to address. I know this firsthand. I submitted those comments that they ignored.

In particular, they ignored the work of Phillips & Smith (1994), demonstrating that failure to fully identify the true, infectious causes of a disease, to which non-, ex-, and active smokers are unequally exposed, results in confounding in multivariate analysis - and false blame of smoking. Subsequent evidence has proven that even the supposed active smoking risk is attributable to confounding, in its entirety. They ignored the gold standard study implicating chorioamnionitis in perinatal illness, and showing that the designs of the studies they rely on are defective. They ignored the role of Epstein-Barr virus in nasopharyngeal cancer. They ignored the evidence implicating Chlamydia pneumoniae and other infections in cardiovascular disease.

And in the last four years the evidence against the anti-smokers' claims has been piling higher and higher, strengthening past evidence and implicating infection as the true cause of even more illnesses blamed on smoking. Yet for this deceitful "assessment," the California EPA pretends that scientific knowledge has been conveniently frozen and all that is now necessary is to precisely quantify exposure to ETS to generate a bogus death toll. In children, of course, for maximum propaganda value, to use in their further assaults against smoking.

Chairman Alan C Lloyd, an old hack of the chemical carcinogenesis school, and his recently published article on regulation of diesel engines: Diesel engines: environmental impact and control. AC Lloyd, TA Cackette. J Air Waste Manag Assoc 2001 Jun;51(6):809-847.

Dr. William F Friedman is the most obvious Lasker stooge on the board: "He has served on the Research Committee of the American Heart Association, [and] the Cardiology Advisory Committee of the National Institutes of Health," and got his MD from the State University of New York. His main research interest is cardiac myocytes. The others appear to be cronies of governors Pete Wilson and Gray Davis.

Along with Donald R. Shopland, Coordinator of the Smoking and Tobacco Control Program of the National Cancer Institute (a Lasker stooge since the 1964 Surgeon General Report), Stanton Glantz directed the California EPA's corrupt ETS report, which in 1999 was proclaimed "NCI Monograph 10" by the Lasker stooge, Surgeon General David Satcher. Gayle Windham of the Lester Breslow-associated Public Health Institute was the author of Chapter 3, "Developmental Toxicity I: Perinatal Manifestations"; and Chapter 5, "Reproductive Effects."
