The weight of the evidence of more than 50 studies implicates human papillomaviruses a a cause of ten times more U.S. lung cancers than the anti-smokers blame on secondhand smoke. Smokers and passive smokers are more likely to have been exposed to this virus. The anti-smokers have deliberately committed scientific fraud by ignoring the role of HPV, in order to falsely blame secondhand smoke.

The World Health Organization lied about the findings of their
study, for purely political propaganda reasons: "The World Health
Organization (WHO) has been publicly accused of suppressing
information. Its opponents say that WHO has withheld from publication
its own report that was aimed at but supposedly failed to
scientifically prove that there is an association between passive
smoking, or environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), and a number of
diseases, lung cancer in particular. Both statements are untrue.... The
results of this study, which have been completely misrepresented in
recent news reports, are very much in line with the results of similar
studies both in Europe and elsewhere: passive smoking causes lung
cancer in non-smokers. The study found that there was an estimated 16%
increased risk of lung cancer among non-smoking spouses of smokers. For
workplace exposure the estimated increase in risk was 17%. However, due
to small sample size, neither increased risk was statistically
significant." (PASSIVE SMOKING DOES CAUSE LUNG CANCER, DO NOT LET THEM
FOOL YOU. Press Release, Mar. 9, 1998.) In fact, those who reported
that this study "failed to scientifically prove that there is an
association between passive smoking," etc., were absolutely correct.
The World Health Organization has no scientific justification for
pretending to have found a causal role for secondhand smoke, on the
basis of statistically non-significant results. But this is a mere
nitpick, compared to the deliberate, systematic scientific fraud that
the anti-smoking criminals have committed for decades, of suppressing
research on the role of infections - whose mechanisms, unlike those of
chemical carcinogens in cigarette smoke, are KNOWN.

The Fraud of the National
Toxicology Program of the National Institute of Environmental Health
Sciences: Environmental tobacco smoke was listed as a supposed
"known human carcinogen" in the Ninth
Report on Carcinogens (Tobacco Related Exposures, 2000). There
is no mention at all of the known human carcinogens, human papillomavirus and Epstein-Barr
virus, which are frequently found in lung carcinomas. The NTP
didn't even get around to classifying HPV as a human carcinogen until
2004, nine years after the IARC did so. They have still not
gotten
around to classifying EBV as a carcinogen, although it is also
nine years
since the IARC did that.
